Lumenore Cascading filters in the dashboard empower users to refine their selections and decide what to include or exclude. The multi-select functionality allows end-users to choose items across various date groupings, such as multiple sub-categories across different categories. This is designed to showcase relevant values between the filters by cascading parameters.

Step 1: On the Create Dashboard layout page, locate and click on the “Filter” tab at the top right side of the screen. Then, create filters based on your requirements.

Step 2: To apply Cascading Filters to a specific filter, hover over it and click the three dots to access the menu button. For demonstration purposes, we are using the cascading filter to the “State.”

  1. Add/Edit Cascading Filter:

Select the “Add/Edit Filter Cascading” option from the menu.

  1. Configure Cascading Settings:

A new window will appear with three cascading settings options:

  • All: Choosing this option will modify the data in the filter field whenever any parameters change. It adapts to the selected filter and attributes, transforming the data based on the chosen entity.
  • None: No data change occurs with any parameter change.
  • Custom: It will alter the data when any parameters change, acting based on the chosen filters to adjust the data according to the selected entity.

For the demonstration, we are opting for the “Custom” selection.

  1. Confirm and Apply:

Click “Ok” when the cascading settings are configured.

Step 3: Utilize cascading filters to refine your data analysis. If, for instance, you’ve chosen “Country” as your primary filter, you can further narrow down the results by selecting a specific country, such as India. Clicking the “States” option will display all the states within the chosen country, demonstrating the application of cascading filters using cascading parameters for a more focused view.

Step 4: Select the state or states and apply the changes.

Step 5: You’ll observe that only the states you’ve chosen are reflected in the KPI.

Step 6: Click “Publish,” name the dashboard, select the workspace, and click “Publish” to make the dashboard available.

Step 7: Click “View Dashboard” to access the finalized dashboard.
