Synonym

The Synonym functionality in Lumenore allows you to create alternate search terms for attributes or their values. This means you can set up different words or phrases that users might use to search for the same thing, ensuring they get consistent results no matter what term they use. This greatly enhances searchability and makes it easier for everyone to find the information they need.

For example, if you have a data column labeled “Revenue,” you can set up synonyms like “Sales” or “Income.” That way, whether someone searches for “Revenue,” “Sales,” or “Income,” they’ll get the same results. This feature is particularly useful for accommodating different terminologies that various users might be familiar with.

By allowing you to create custom keywords for your data columns, the Synonym functionality helps tailor Lumenore to better fit your specific business terms and requirements. This improves the overall user experience and makes your data more accessible and intuitive to navigate.

With this feature, you ensure that users can effectively search for and retrieve the data they need, regardless of the terminology they prefer. This not only saves time but also helps in maintaining consistency and clarity in data analysis and reporting.

To add synonyms, follow these steps:

Step 1: After accessing the Synonym feature, click the ‘+ Add Synonym‘ option.

Step 2: Select the attribute by typing in its name.

Step 3: Possible attribute matches will appear as you type. Choose an attribute by clicking on it.

Step 4: Enter a synonym for the selected attribute.

Ensure ‘Global‘ is checked to apply the synonym organization-wide.

Step 5: Select “Add.”

Step 6: Choose “Publish Synonym.”

Step 7: A confirmation message will prompt on the screen.

Generate AI Synonyms

The “Generate AI Synonyms” feature uses artificial intelligence to automatically suggest alternate names for data fields, such as KPIs and attributes. This helps make the data model more user-friendly, especially for business users who may use different terms while querying or exploring data. For example, “Sales” might also be known as “Revenue Amount” or “Quantity” as “Units Sold.” These synonyms improve natural language search, enhance discoverability, and reduce the need for manual entry, making it easier for users to interact with data using the terms they’re familiar with.

To delete the existing synonym:
