This feature allows you to import data directly from Excel spreadsheets into your workflow in Lumenore. This is a common way to bring in structured data for cleaning, transformation, or analysis.

How to use Excel:

Step 1: Upload Files

You can upload Excel files in several ways:

  • Drag & drop from your computer
  • Browse files manually
  • Use cloud storage like Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, SharePoint, etc.
  • Import from Server (button below)
  • To use sample data

We are uploading a file for the demonstration using the “Browse File” option.

Select a file from the user’s local storage and click “Open.” Once the upload is successful, proceed by clicking on “Select sheets.”

Now select the tables and columns the user wants to include by checking the corresponding boxes. The user can also change the data type of the column.

Note

  • The file name will appear in the download box once the file has been successfully loaded.
  • Users can incorporate multiple files; however, ensuring that all Excel files share the same schema is essential.

Step 2: Advanced Configuration

These settings allow for more control over how the Excel data is read and interpreted:

Header row

  • Yes, indicates the first row (row 1) contains column headers (like Product_id, Product_Name, etc.).
  • This ensures those headers are not treated as data.

Use filename column

  • If “Yes“, the user can add a column with the filename, which is useful when processing multiple files.

Select all columns

  • If “Yes” is selected, meaning all columns in the sheet will be imported automatically.

Use sheet name

  • If “Yes” is selected, each row will add the sheet name as a column.

Schema auto-detect

  • If “Yes” is selected, the system will guess the correct data types for each column based on the contents.

Apply globally

  • If checked, the settings would apply to all selected sheets.

Click “Save” to apply and store the advanced configuration settings.

Step 3: Now the Excel sheet is loaded successfully.
